SKELLYBOTS

Okay, so the Skellybots are one of my many weird brain-children. It started with an isometric drawing assignment for my college drawing class. It then became one of my first linocut prints, “Skellybots” recycle. I don’t exactly remember how i even conceptualized this, but my it can probably be explained by my fascination (read: mild obsession) with technology and skeletons/skulls/mortality. The Art that Started it all

Each Skellybot piece has its own story.

Origin Story

So, the Legend of the Skellybots goes like this:

These formless biomechanical aliens were deployed from an unknown homeworld to learn more about the universe. They arrive on earth after the apocalypse, when all of the human race is extinct. (I know it sounds dark, but stay with me here.) The first thing they see when they arrive are human skeletons. They aren’t exactly the smartest aliens, so they assume that humans actually looked like skeletons, so they molded themselves into what they thought was our image, and started to learn about our customs to report back to their homeworld. They take snapshots of themselves doing human things, or mimicking human experiences.
